"Honda has launched last week a series of talks with the United Steelworkers of Campinas and Region, and after exhausting all alternatives to allow the factory, came to the decision off 400 employees." [RAC]     Click Here

I like Capitalism, but it has to be a quality Capitalism.

Who does not like to find a score of 100 actual? And who does not disappoint to find that it is false?
Certain stories that accompany the papers are so clueless that I wonder if I am the victim of some hallucination, cost believe people are seriously acting.
The solution is so clear, although it is not easy is crystal clear with minimal possibilities of variation that still maintains a satisfactory solution.

The union simply does not want the dismissal of workers because the company must turn a magical way to keep everyone working or paying for them to stay put.

I do not have a name for it, if the company were a State would call Communism.
If we were to call the company Capitalism should keep the number of employees consistent with the demand or production capacity.
A private company is required to maintain work stations that no longer exist!
   No name for it.
Maybe stupidity or a movie "Land of Fantasies".

Also complain about the way that the layoffs are occurring by telegram, what they wanted? Flowers and chocolates?
I understand the gravity of the situation I've been there a few times even having to lay off staff, it was terrible.
I think people should have to be more mature with respect to Capitalism.

  Company is not charity.
The reason it exists is to PROFIT for the owners or shareholders satisfying a market demand.

It's the same thing that her family has a monthly income of 2000 and 2500 spending every month.
Sooner or later there will have to roll over credit or debt, will be forced to seek help from friends and relatives, so before that happens is better suit the reality and spend only up to 2000 or a little less, it is good to have some reservation, some savings, it is Capitalism BASIC.

How Honda could predict an earthquake of that magnitude in Japan? If the union because they could not?

If Brazilian workers think their unjust suffering because they do not stand in the shoes of the victims in Japan who have lost homes and lives?

Life is not fair, complain to the good Lord.
Stupidity, insensitivity, misunderstanding on all sides.

Regarding the company, not only this but all who go through this process, could give some assurance priority in rehiring of dismissed, leaving the name of these workers registered in their HR as soon as possible and send a telegram inviting them back .. . it can be a message.
The Japanese are a very competent people and the current difficulties will be overcome.
Proportionately improved situation Honda could assure these workers that they will be rehired priority.
If the individual is already in a better or equal place and do not want to risk it ... okay.
Happens to work at a company level Honda is not every day that the employee can then go looking for a replacement hoping that Honda will recover and recontrate.

Realize that despite the unpleasant event, company and employees will be hopeful and supportive rooting for a speedy recovery?

Instead of using resources "Aphrodite" use of resources "Ares" Sailing to confrontation, to war, where both sides lose due to the sensitivity.  Click Here
The result is always a waste of energy, time and money, this is definitely not a good quality Capitalism, not even sure gives to call Capitalism.

To maintain a good quality of Capitalism people can not be so stupid and insensitive
Wish all the best to the Japanese siblings, an admirable people.
