About Reversion

"The routine of prayers is a means for the reorientation of our will more systematically, and our more atavistic impulse, toward what is right." [E-mail]
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
Atavism: (Latin atavus, "ancestral") is the reappearance of a certain characteristic in the organism after several generations of absence. Stems from not
expression of a gene in one or more generations of individuals.
The term is commonly used to refer to physical similarities and / or psychological between beings and their distant ancestors.
Culturally, we use the term to refer to the recovery of ancestral traditions and attitudes that have remained dormant for a long period.   [Wikipedia]

We have an "ancestral heritage" to do what is "wrong" and the prayer comes in reorienting to do what is "right"!?
Whatever! I never prayed for stealing, killing, raping, not wishing evil people.
In my prayers I asked for just that no harm would happen to me, asking for protection, prayer in no time I remember the monstrosity avoided me, because my monstrosity was never something to be stifled.
I speak for myself, but I note that the vast majority of people in this part, are similar to me.
So much so long ago that I do not pray and I have no desire to kill, steal or do harm people.
Biblically my remote ancestor was Adam and taking the questionable disobedience does not appear to have been a person inclined to evil.
Scientifically our ancestors, the "cave men" had far less technology then needed the greater use of physical force, but then to say that they were naturally evil [were wrong] is traveling a lot in mayonnaise.

So this ANCESTRAL HERITAGE who preaches that we have a natural urge to do what is wrong does not make sense to me, not logical.

Saying that prayer leads us to do what is right ... do not even know what to comment.
  What is wrong?
Want to live in a cave more comfortable? Sex? Develop a hatchet with flint? Defend their territory from invaders? Do not want to be killed?
"Decipher me or I will devour!"
