Embraer

Before being privatized, Embraer was on the verge of bankruptcy and was not even among the companies with the highest market value.

Privatizing Embraer was bad because !?

After a few years of privatization, it became the third largest manufacturer of commercial jets in the world.
In 2013, it was the Company of the Year in the Exame Magazine's Best and Largest special edition, as it was the Brazilian company that grew the most in exports in 2012, 17.6% in relation to the previous year, being one of the largest exporters in the country.
It has become one of the most important blue chips traded on the Bovespa and distributes dividends to minority shareholders and employees.
The new controlling shareholders then became the pension funds Previ and Sistel (20% each), Cia. Bozano, Simonsen (20%), as well as a group of investors with a smaller shareholding Dassault, EADS, Snecma and Thales Group.
After privatization, the company was chaired by engineer MaurĂcio Botelho, who was replaced in 2007 by Frederico Curado.
